The line

Every Mathis piece begins on paper. The line is drawn by hand, in pencil, on the curve of an ear or the length of a finger. This is also where bespoke and custom pieces begin, drawn alongside our clients to bring their ideas to life.

The stone selection

Each stone is hand-picked, one at a time, examined by eye and under the loupe. We work exclusively with natural, mined stones, from long-trusted, traceable sources. Color, clarity, cut, proportion: every stone is inspected and chosen according to a set list of excellence criteria.

The craft

Once the line and the stones meet, each piece is made according to the codes of high jewelry. We work with goldsmiths and setters at the top of their craft. Each piece is mounted, set, polished, and inspected, one at a time.
