The Times (United Kingdom), Saturday 4 April 1987. Photograph: Laurence with her Japanese business partner Tsuneo Takagi at the Sotheby’s Geneva auction of the late Duchess of Windsor’s jewellery. A collection that embodied what history knows as The Love Story of the Century, the one for which King Edward VIII abdicated the British throne. Together, for the Japanese market, they acquired the last and largest lot of this formidable romance.
